Friday

First day in our new hometown. We decided to take the kids to the park and by the library so that they could get their very first library cards. They had a blast! Lando made a new friend at the park, a little boy named William. Oh how boys are so rough and tumble. Everything was about jumping around like maniacs and finding bugs. Lily just enjoyed running through the grass and picking out Sleeping Beauty from the library for reading time. Then we met up with the family for dinner at some restaurant on Kelsey Rd. it was pretty tasty.

Tues, Weds, Thurs and...

Tuesday we drove through Texas, while driving through we passed a refinery and Lily said, " hey mom! look over there...it's a cloud factory!" Sure enough. Wow what little minds can dream up. I definitely like the idea of a cloud factory much better than the reality. I guess this is a prime example of the old saying stop and smell the roses. Children have such a pure and innocent mind. Anyway, made it through Texas and stopped in Amarillo, at the best BBQ joint, to eat at Rudy's. So yummy :) Left there and headed east to Oklahoma to stay with my longest surviving friend Kim. We go back some 22 years. Man I am getting *cough cough*...Hung out with her and the family. The kids saw their first slug. After minutes of watching it and it going nowhere John shoved it with a stick and guess what?! It was dead. lol. Got an amazing nights sleep, woke up and got ourselves together to go eat at Coney Islander...Best coney's ever! Hit the road around 3pm and made it, barely to the border of Illinois and Missouri. Crossed the dotted line and we found a hotel in our new home state! Write more later, miss you all! hugs and kisses.

P.S. We did get the house, the whole house. so we will have room for all that want to visit :D

Monday....

Hello all! So sorry if you have checked out the blog only to find that there have been no further updates...Lets start with Monday, we got off and on the road at about noon. Everything went quite smoothly, we drove from Phoenix to Flagstaff. Then from Flag to Albuquerque. While in Flag though we stopped off for a bite at Mary's cafe, If you have never been there before, i strongly recommend it, it's super cheap and quite tasty, but cash only. They have these cinnamon rolls that are as big as Lando and they are only 3.75! Amazing!!! Anyway, left there and headed east. Landed in New Mexico and got a room at the Motel 6, since when did Motel 6 get an upgrade? It was really nice for the price. We assumed we had wifi, but made it to the room, turned on the puter and damn no service. Called down and they told us we had to come to the office for the code. We were just too pooped. So hence the no updates. Anyway, here are a few pictures from the Monday adventure. Enjoy! I'll write Tuesday/Wednesday's update tomorrow. With the 2 hour time difference im awake at almost 1. I better go to bed.

So...John conquered 900 miles of pavement and farmland yesterday. Every time I spoke to him he sounded as peppy as a cheerleader at a national cheer competition... I do believe he might have drank one too many rockstar energy drinks. He did on a good note decide to get a room and sleep in a bed rather than the back of the truck in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma ;) He just sent me a picture of the giant cross in Texas. That thing always scares me, I keep thinking the children of the corn live out in those fields amongst the cross and they are gonna jump out in the road and steal you. Holding you hostage until you conform to the ways of the lord...lol. Looks as though he's got some overcast cloudy traveling ahead of him. He was lucky yesterday, getting to OKC after the big storm that dumped baseball sized hail over town. Clear sky's and warm weather is what he gets to look forward to here. Hopefully this weekend will stay below 100 degrees and we will not melt loading the trailer.

Packing..

Hello all! Well I am officially in my last week in Arizona. John left today to drive out here and get us. I am excited and terrified all in one ;) So, I'm packing. Which I might add is awful. I dislike packing. I don't mind unpacking, but packing it all up....well that's for the birds. I will do my best to keep everyone updated with news and pics of our great new adventure to Chicago. Don't forget me because I am 1800 miles away, I hope to see some of you in my new town!!!! You know who you are :D
